Therapy isn’t just for severe mental illness. It benefits anyone seeking support while experiencing difficulties in work, family, relationships, parenting, etc. Looking for coping strategies or need help in personal growth. It’s a safe space to explore thoughts and emotions. Most importantly, the main aim of psychotherapy is to bring positive changes into your life.
In a session, we discuss your thoughts and feelings, explore challenges, set goals, and work towards personal growth and self-awareness, using a variety of modalities tools, depending on your personality, needs, and situation.
You don’t need to prepare. Come exactly as you are, and we will take it from there.
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and establish a foundation for our work together.
The duration varies based on your individual needs and wants. Together, we’ll regularly review progress, and you can decide when you feel ready to end our sessions. I usually recommend working weekly until you feel a positive change. When you are feeling well and have a secure emotional foundation, we can discuss what works better for you going forward.
Group therapy is beneficial for those who enjoy sharing experiences and gaining insights from others. The communal nature of the group dynamic creates a supportive environment where unexpected shifts in healing can occur, catching participants by surprise and fostering natural, unforced transformations. Witnessing the diverse journeys of fellow group members often illuminates aspects of personal struggles.
On the other hand, individual therapy offers more personalised attention, providing a focused and tailored exploration of your unique challenges. This one-on-one approach allows for a deep dive into personal issues, targeted interventions, and concentrated attention on your individual needs.
Sometimes individual therapy may be the most beneficial path, especially for those who are just beginning their journey.
If you find yourself uncertain about the best fit, we can consult to determine the most suitable approach based on your preferences, needs, and therapeutic goals.
It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. You are welcome to come exactly as you are and we will take care of your emotional needs. And remember to reach out, for example via text message, so we can discuss your concerns or reschedule if needed.
Together, we’ll evaluate your progress regularly. You will feel it! You really will see the changes in your life and the need to go for therapy because you will have your individual psychotherapist working for you inside of you.
The free consultation is an opportunity to discuss your needs and explore if we’re a good fit. It’s offered once and it lasts 15 to 30 minutes.
A complimentary consultation is usually conducted over a video call, serving as a brief chat to explore whether we would like to meet in person.
I exclusively offer in-person, 50-minute consultations, which are considered integral to the process, and there is a standard fee. The intention here is to safeguard and create a supportive space for you.
A complimentary consultation is not a formal process; rather, it is a brief meeting to explore the challenges you are experiencing and to determine if the right “fit” is there
The full consultation is designed for a comprehensive exploration of your situation, assessing how the therapeutic process can best support you. Please let me know what would work best for you, and I will make every effort to accommodate your needs.
Both in-person and online options are available.
Only if this is beneficial to your therapy. We arrange the first meeting together to discuss your needs, especially if you are under 18 years old. You can contact me to talk about your specific circumstances and decide when and how your loved ones can be a part of this journey.
I don’t work with kids under 16 years old, but I do provide advice and behavioural consultations for parents.
There are other therapists available [link] who are working with kids under 16. You are welcome to reach out to them.
Yes. 16-years old children and adolescents, who seek psychotherapy, must have the consent of their legal guardians or parents. After discussing with the parents, I provide them with a parental information leaflet and a consent form for them to sign.
Psychotherapy typically involves a deep exploration of emotional and psychological issues, seeking to understand and address root causes for long-term change. Therapy, as a broader term, encompasses mental health support, including psychotherapy, counselling, and coaching.
Counselling tends to focus on specific issues, providing guidance and practical solutions in a shorter-term, solution-focused manner.
Coaching, on the other hand, is goal-oriented, emphasising personal and professional development, with a focus on achieving specific objectives.
In short, therapy focuses on emotional well-being, while coaching emphasises goal achievement. The choice among these terms often depends on individual needs and the nature of the challenges being addressed. During our sessions, we can explore which approach aligns best with your unique situation.
